Hole 12 Discussion

#12 is a strong risk-reward par 5. This par 5 should be short enough for most who hit a stellar tee shot to reach in two, but attempting to do so is quite dangerous.

The tee shot is notable for the large carry to even reach the fairway. The fairway is also tucked to the left side, in the direction of out of bounds, so many will be willing to miss right to take it out of play. Try to work the ball right to left to have a good look at reaching in 2. Balls to the right can get blocked and end up on the adjacent Fleming 9 hole course.

If a player ends up in the fairway, attempting to reach the green are complicated by three intrusive fairway bunkers blocking anything but a well placed running shot. A large bunker to the left side of the green blocks the shortest line to attack the green from. Note, however, the extension of the fairway skirt past the hole, for those who can carry the green.

A wedge in from a shot distance should take the fairway bunkers out of play. The green is complex, and pin positions can make some landing areas problematic.
