Crossing back over the bike path brings players to the long, narrow, par 5 eighth.
Off the tee there are three dangers. Out-of-bounds for those who miss left, a creek for those who miss right, and an in-play fairway bunker for those who don’t control their distance off the tee.
The green isn’t really reachable, except for the longest hitters, so a conservative lay up is definitely ideal here. The strategic fairway bunker on the left complicates this. The left-side bunker is about 80 yards from the green, so most players can simply play short of it, while still playing a tight wedge in.
The green is guarded only by a bunker front right, however, the angle of the green moves away from this bunkers, so a draw is the ideal shot in.
