Hole 8 Discussion

Blind tee shot - listen for and ring the bell upon leaving the fairway. Less-than-driver may be recommended for the longer hitters as the hole doglegs left on the line of the long waste area visible from the tee, with trees beyond it to further discourage the aggressive line. A long straight or right shot is welcomed by the trees and houses on that side of the hole, and will make the approach shot much more difficult. A power draw 275 yards on the right edge of the waste area will be rewarded with a short iron or wedge into a green slightly sloped front-to-back. The green will not break the way it reads, almost appearing to go uphill at times. The members say it obviously breaks "towards the Dairy Queen" on a few of the greens, as a joke to how deceptive the break is even when played weekly. This is one of those greens that may cause head shaking because of a missed putt that was struck precisely as intended.
