The par 5 12th, like the 10th, is a three shotter. At 510 yards from the back tees, few will be able to hit the green in two. Even with wind assistance, the ball has to be carried all the way onto the green. A good lay up will open up the green with a view of the pin.
The ideal place from which to approach the green is the left half of the fairway. Two small pots bunkers will collect approaches that come up short. The green is bowl-shaped, gradually sloping from front to back with a fold running through the spine.
