The fifth hole can be a completely different hole depending on tee placement. If the tees are on the back tee area, the hole will play is an uphill dogleg left. If the tees are on the front tee are, it will play like a short par four that plays to a standard draw.

From the back tee area, there are generally three strategies. The simplest is to play a straight shot, 150 (or so) yards up the hill, to the edge of the fairway, leaving a longer (210-225 yard) shot into the green. The second strategy is to bend a conservative tee shot (no more than 225 yards) around the trees, which should leave a 150-ish yard shot into the green. Finally, one can try to cut the corner by playing a lofted tee shot, at least 200 yards, up the hill and over the trees.

The difficulty of the approach is completely dependent on the tee shot.
