Hole 2 Discussion

Hole 2, a dogleg right par 4 that moves gently uphill to a raised green, is the first of a handful of reachable par 4's at Lincoln Park.

For players deciding to attack the green, an accurate drive with a soft fade will be rewarded with a straightforward chip shot or, in rare circumstances, an eagle putt. However, the landing zone tightens as the ball gets closer to the green and a poor drive can be punished with OB on the left or a poor lie in the rough on the right.

A layup tee shot favoring the left side of the fairway should give the player a flip wedge into the green and a realistic birdie chance. The fairway slopes from left to right and often can repel fading shots into the right trees when the ground is firm, especially with the prevailing wind off the ocean.

The small, circular green is strongly sloped from back-to-front and sees more than its share of three-putts. Danger lurks behind the green in the form of bushes that will force an unplayable lie.
