Hole 5 Discussion

The fifth hole is a reachable par 5. The bunkers off the tee will be in play for most players, so aggressive lines are quite risky.

Those playing for the green in two need to note the low area just short of the green. It’s not an explicit danger, but may stop the ball from running on as easily as it appears.

Those playing for the green in three can take note of the pin position, and the unique green contouring. Getting close will be rewarded, and there will be multiple positioning strategies. That said, there are no flat lies on the fairway, so luck will still play a role.

The green itself has a swale right through the center at a 45 degree angle. There two tiers on either side. Missing the correct tier will lead to an absurdly challenging putt across the swale, but when the pin placement is in the swale, players may need to use the back side of the swale to slope their putt back towards the cup. This green could be quite fun or maddening depending on where you end up.
